One of the many great things coming out from our local Braavoo and Biodesign Winter School was that we met some local people interested in water quality. Hammerdirt is Roger and Shannon, life guards from Montreux, who have been quantifying litter on local beaches for some years.
We asked them to come present their project at hackuarium, the local biohacker space where we are housed. The idea of quantifying visible-pollutants, and to correlate (or not) with micro pollutants or biological, chemical parameters is a great fit. We can also learn from the various international standards of pollution reporting that they are already working with. Think global, go local!
We will be documenting the collaboration here on the hackuarium wiki: Micro to Macro Water Pollution.
